We often travel through life on auto-pilot. Waking up, going about our routine business of the day, return home to disengage, and relive the cycle over again tomorrow. I KNOW THERE IS MORE TO LIFE THAN THIS! When the destination is an Ideal, It is the spirit of the journey and how it is executed that is the true experience and fulfillment in life.

The Search for Freedom

Along the way through life we can get caught up in situations we feel we can't get out of. Trapped. Some of us fight to get out, some resign to stay in bondage. Essentially what we all yearn for is Freedom. How do we get to it?

There are many systems with which to make sense of our lives. Many boast of various degrees of success. There are the traditional methods, time honored catechisms steeped in history and use. There are also newer more unconventional methods which by contrast, smack of adolescent and hair-brained philosophical notions. There are the esoteric, so called secret methods, very much related to the traditional methods, although they tend to be archaic and hard to follow and somewhat forbidden from a fundamentalist standpoint. I am sure I could classify several more religious, philosophical, scientific, apathetic, atheistic, etc, etc, traditions with which we try to make sense of this experience we universally call LIFE. Ultimately there comes a point at which we have to decide which one to follow. We must conform to the imposed box of some sort of system within which to place our lives.......or not.

This doesn't sound like an appealing prospect. We must conform to boundaries and conduct ourselves within them. (inside the box)

We yearn for the security and comfort of these practices. Usually we are instituted at young ages into their structure..... sometimes not. In youth we are malleable and easily take on the methods of perception and practice of life which we are given, often to our benefit. We age and experience love and heartbreak, victory and defeat, and everything in between. Along the way we rely on a faith in whichever system we were exposed to..... whether there was a discernible system or not.

However we do tend to like the concept of freedom, liberation from bondage. (outside the box)

In the spirit of this search for freedom we investigate the alternatives. When the accumulation of past experiences yields no growth, no fulfillment, we feel stagnant, in bondage. Consequently we search within our warehouse of learned tradition and seek expansion, greater truth, release, freedom. If not found within that tradition we will seek it elsewhere, in one or a combination of many of the alternatives.

When sought, freedom will be found, wherever we look for it....... and usually where we least expect it.

Don't give up the search! Freedom and Growth are found in the process.
